Designed by Eric Glesser, the Manix® 2 is an extremely capable full-sized folding knife that is ready for the toughest challenges. The tumble-finished PlainEdge™ version of this model also has the distinction of being the first Spyderco production knife to showcase MagnaMax™ blade steel. Formulated by Larrin Thomas, a PhD in Metallurgy, this revolutionary cutlery steel offers a balance of toughness and edge retention that rivals the best high-wear-resistance powder metallurgy tool steels, but with the benefit of superior corrosion resistance.
The Manix 2’s broad, full-flat-ground blade provides exceptional cutting power and edge geometry. Its textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp also allow a forward-positioned grip for enhanced control during detailed cutting chores. The blade is supported by Spyderco’s high-strength Ball Bearing Lock™ mechanism, which complements the knife’s fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ and reversible tip-up pocket clip to make every aspect of the Manix 2’s carry, deployment, and operation completely ambidextrous. The lock and blade are housed in an ergonomic handle featuring full skeletonized stainless steel liners, peel-ply-textured G-10 scales, and a generously sized lined lanyard hole. Proudly manufactured in the USA.
